Potty Parity Frustration Poll

Posted 2010-02-19 by zeta83 12 voters
This is a poll to assess the level of frustration over potty parity laws. Some (most) questions are gender specific and geared towards women.
(Women): Do you think potty parity laws are a good idea?
Yes!
37.0% (3)
No.
62.0% (5)
Undecided.
0.0% (0)
8 voters answered this question.
(Women): What do you think the ideal ratio of mens to women's toilets should be?
Exactly equal, that is true equality. If men have 5 stalls then women should have 5 stalls.
25.0% (2)
Women should get an equal number of stalls to toilets AND urinals in the men's room. So if the men's room has 5 urinals 5 stalls the ladies room should have 10 stalls.
25.0% (2)
Women should get double.
12.0% (1)
Women should get triple.
37.0% (3)

When it comes to the wait at the bathroom which is more important?
Equality of Opportunity (Meaning men and women should get the exact same numbers of toilets even if it means a disproportionate wait. Giving more to one sex is not equal.)
41.0% (5)
Equality of Outcome. (It's ok to give one sex MORE toilets than the other if it will slow the lines or equalize the wait.)
58.0% (7)
12 voters answered this question.
(Women): Do you feel Potty Parity will eliminate lines for the ladies room?
No, it is pointless, there will always be a line.
33.0% (2)
Yes it will eliminate or significantly reduce long waits.
16.0% (1)
It might help reduce the lines but probably not by alot.
50.0% (3)
6 voters answered this question.
(Women): You hear Potty Parity laws are coming to your area, what is your reaction?
I'd be thrilled! It's about time!
50.0% (3)
I'd be indifferent.
0.0% (0)
I'd laugh cause it's kinda stupid.
50.0% (3)
6 voters answered this question.
(Women): You hear that Potty Parity laws have been overturned everywhere and even banned. There will never be any change in the length of the ladies room line in your lifetime and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. What is your reaction?
I would be happy because I think it's a bad idea to begin with.
50.0% (3)
I would be extremely disappointed and frustrated.
16.0% (1)
I would be mildly disappointed but hey, what are you gonna do? We've survived without it until now.
33.0% (2)
I wouldn't care one way or the other, it's not a big deal to me.
0.0% (0)
6 voters answered this question.
(Women): You hear that Potty Parity Laws have been passed, but for men, such that men would have twice as many restrooms as you. What is your reaction?
I'd be furious and outraged!
50.0% (3)
I'd be annoyed but not devastated. I'd get over it pretty quickly.
0.0% (0)
I'd be indifferent.
16.0% (1)
I'd see some ironic humour in it!
33.0% (2)
6 voters answered this question.
(Women): Would you support Potty Parity if it would significantly increase the wait for men?
No, that wouldn't be fair either.
50.0% (3)
Yes, we've had to wait too long already! Let the men wait for a change!
50.0% (3)
6 voters answered this question.
(Men): Would you support Potty Parity for women if it meant a significantly increased wait for you?
No. It's not fair we should have fewer places to pee just because we can pee more efficiently.
55.0% (5)
Yes, women have waited so long, it seems reasonable.
22.0% (2)
I would support a SLIGHTLY increased wait if it would equalize the wait for women.
22.0% (2)
9 voters answered this question.
Should urinals be removed from the men's room in interest of equality?
No, that's stupid, it won't help anything.
100.0% (12)
Yes, urinals are a tool of male oppression.
0.0% (0)
12 voters answered this question.
Do you feel Potty Parity laws will become the standard? If so, when do you feel potty parity will arrive?
I feel that Potty Parity will never succeed and things will stay the same as now.
27.0% (3)
Eventually, but I wouldn't hold my breathe. It will take a long time to affect any noticeable change. My children and possibly grandchildren will still be waiting in line.
72.0% (8)
I feel it will improve things rapidly and be here soon.
0.0% (0)
11 voters answered this question.
(Women): Overall how satisfied are you with the number of toilets and the wait for the bathroom?
Very dissatisfied. The number of toilets are far from adequate and the lines to the ladies room are very long, a fairly frequent incovenience that I encounter regularly. I complain often and openly.
50.0% (3)
It could be better, but hey that's life. It's not the worst thing in the world.
16.0% (1)
I am satisfied with the number of available toilets and feel everyone should stop complaining.
33.0% (2)
6 voters answered this question.
(Women): How important do you feel Potty Parity is?
It's a major issue affecting all women and a significant problem that deserves much more attention.
20.0% (1)
It's a minor inconvience but there are far more important issues affecting women I'd rather see addressed first. Potty Parity is worthy of attention but ranks low on my priority list.
40.0% (2)
I don't see it as an issue at all. There are far more important things affecting women and I'd willingly see Potty Parity dismissed completely if it would advance those other causes even a little.
40.0% (2)
5 voters answered this question.
Which do you feel is a better solution?
Potty Parity laws should be implimented to regulate how many toilets are provided to ensure waits are equal even if it costs extra.
36.0% (4)
Leave it entirely up to private businesses and market forces. Private businesses are under no obligation to provide x number of toilets in a sex ratio even if it means inequality.
63.0% (7)
11 voters answered this question.
(Answer only if you picked allow market forces to decide on the last question): Would you still support the market forces solution if your gender had wildly disproportionate amounts of toilets. Ex: Ladies room has 2-3 stalls while the men's room has 5 stalls and 10 urinals etc. as the standard at most places.
Oh, oh, I gotta pee. Fine you got me, some regulation is ok.
28.0% (2)
(Legs crossed like a pretzel): No, I'm willing to suffer for my ideals!
71.0% (5)
7 voters answered this question.
What do you think is the best alternative to Potty Parity?
Unisex restrooms.
33.0% (4)
Female urinals.
0.0% (0)
Adjustable restrooms that can be changed from male to female based on need.
16.0% (2)
Letting women use the men's room if the line is too long at the ladies room.
8.0% (1)
Try to encourage places to get more ladies rooms without forcing a law. Boycott places without adequate toilets, write letters, lodge a complaint.
8.0% (1)
Just accepting there are differences between the sexes and that some things can't be helped. If women take longer in the bathroom they should work out a solution among themselves on how to best make use of their facilities, we're all adults here.
16.0% (2)
Women should learn better bladder control. Learn to use the toilets before leaving home, don't drink too much if you know you'll have to wait, know where toilets are and just learning to hold it a little longer. If women can do everything men can that includes holding pee!
