Dreams causing you to Wet the Bed

Did you ever have one of those times when you've got to take a leak super bad to the point where you can feel your bladder being constricted by your other organs and you finally get to the bathroom and drop trou as you get into position and you do the one armed lean in anticipation of the unbelievable satisfaction you are about to receive and you cut loose and sigh as the stream of urine cuts into the water like a Bali cliff diver and that delicious sound echoes about you but then you realize that despite these wonderful sensations you are experiencing the one critical one that you are not feeling is the sensation of having to urinate decreasing even the slightest iota and this strikes you as perplexing because how can you still feel like you have to take a piss while you're in the middle of pissing but then it hits you like a thunderclap. You are asleep. You are dreaming of peeing because the urge to pee is so bad it is invading your dreams. And then you jolt awake in a horrific panic knowing, just KNOWING, that you are going to be laying in a pool of urine but thankfully the sheets are dry and the relief that washes over you quickly fades as you realize that your waking up in time on this particular occasion is no guarantee that you will wake up in time on future occasions and that maybe, just maybe, God really does have a sense of humor and this is his little finger in the ribs method to tell you that you'd better shape up or next time is going to be an even bigger relief but not in the way this one was.

This exact thing has happened to me several times. The very first time I remember it was when I was 16, I was dreaming of urinating in my toilet at home, however, the urine was running down my sides instead of the into the bowl...and I didn't hear the familliar water splashing noise...then I woke up. The next time something similar happened was when I awoke myself laughing at something funny I saw in my dream. This same exact thing happened in a different dream. Twice I've been dreaming and I am distinctly aware that my dream is, in fact, not reality. The first time was when I learned some condition to be true, however suddenly knew that condition was NOT true, and realized it was a dream, but still had no control over anything in it, nor could I wake myself. The second time, I don't remember how, but I realized it was a dream, and had full control over it. I was in a public restroom, I cut the stall door like butter, ate the mirror, etc. Another time I dreampt I was talking to my mother in a dream...when my speech suddenly became slurred...and then I woke up. Finally, when I was living with an ex girlfriend, I had two episodes where I woke myself up, peeing in bed...unfortunately sleeping in the same bed as her. :/
Dreams don't make you wet the bed

There is a popular misconception that dreaming that you are peeing can make you wet the bed, but it's really the other way around. Your body responds to stimulus even when you are asleep and a full bladder can cause you to dream that you need to pee, and actually peeing while you are asleep may cause you to dream that you are. The physical sensation of peeing or the feeling of getting wet may be enough to wake you up before you finish, which is why some people wake up in mid-stream. I know this poll wasn't aimed at people like me but I do have lots of experience with that kind of dream. I am a very deep sleeper with less than perfect bladder control, and wind up wetting the bed almost every night. I have peeing dreams fairly often, about once a week, and they are always different, I've never had the same or very similar dream twice. I never wake up in mid-stream, either dreaming about it or not, I could probably sleep through the roof being blown off the house.
